Miti Sathe

Director, International Intellectual Property (India and Special Projects)

Miti Sathe is director of international intellectual property for India and special projects at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Intellectual Property Center (GIPC).  She works on the protection and enforcement of IP rights in India and internationally through building advocacy coalitions and interfacing with foreign decision makers and lawmakers. To this job she brings more than a decade of political experience designing and managing complex marketing and advocacy campaigns.

Before joining the Chamber in 2011, Sathe served as associate director for the Office of Public Engagement at the White House. In this capacity, she handled outreach strategy and communications to third-party groups, nonprofits, surrogates, academics, and foundations. She worked on many of the president’s and first lady’s major initiatives, including the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, the Military Family Initiative, and the Job Creation Act.  
 
Prior to joining the White House, Sathe was vice president for Blue Engine Message & Media. She was responsible for organizing issue advocacy campaigns for nonprofit, political, and corporate clients, using long-term corporate planning with short-term political rapid response techniques to achieve results.
 
Sathe has worked on numerous political campaigns, including the Obama for America Presidential Campaign where she was deputy marketing director.   
 
Sathe was born in London and received her B.A. from the University of Maryland. She lives in Washington, D.C.
